Banana split is a dessert originated in the United States of America consisting from 1 banana, 3 types of ice cream, different sauces and cream. As simple as it sounds, as tasty it is. I took the recipe from videojug and I followed it almost entirely.
Ingredients: (4 serves)
4 bananas, 4 scoops of strawberry ice cream, 4 scoops vanilla ice cream, 4 scoops chocolate ice cream, 200 ml whipping cream (optional whipped with 1 package vanilla sugar or 1 tsp sugar) / 1 tube whipped cream, chocolate, strawberry, caramel or pineapple sauces (or to your liking), chopped caramelized nuts, 4 maraschino cherries or normal cherries or sour cherries or summer berries.
Preparation time: 10 minutes maximum
Difficulty: very low
Method
Peel the bananas and slice them down the length if you have a special oval, long bowl for a banana split, if not, cut the bananas in two vertically or, if you are using small bowls, you can even use half a banana sliced lengthwise.
Scoop one scoop of strawberry ice cream, then one scoop of vanilla ice cream and one of chocolate ice cream over each banana.
Whip the cream and add it generously over the ice cream. Add sauces to your liking or the ones that are handy. I melted some chocolate myself with a little cream or with a tbsp of milk. When it was not so warm, I spread it over the cream.
Sprinkle with caramelized nuts (peanuts, almonds - you can buy them in stores) and add "the cherry on top", that is a maraschino cherry for each bowl or even summer berries.
Enjoy!
